In addition to helping owners sell their own boats (see examples below) , we also specialise in importing boats for Customers (mainly from Florida and Michigan). Some points to remember are -
- They have probably been stored out of the water for much of their life
- They have probably only been used in fresh water
- Most of the boats are higher specification models with de-luxe packages such as electric generator, air conditioning, microwave oven, fridge, electric anchor winch etc, frequently fitted as standard
- We can carry out a full engine and drive service prior to handover
- Where appropriate, we can convert them to 220/240v shore power operation
- The stern drive sacrificial anodes should be replaced with longer-lasting Aluminium anodes
- All imported boats must meet the latest RCD compliance requirements and be CE certified and marked accordingly; we can assist you with this.
Buying say, a 5-year old boat from USA means you are probably getting more boat for your money than a boat that has spent all its life in the UK.

We can now offer a complete package as follows:
- You find a boat and negotiate its purchase (although we can assist with this if required
- We will arrange for it to be "shrink-wrapped" and transported to the US dock side
- *We will arrange insured sea freight from US to the UK
- *We will arrange Customs clearance and payment of Duty and VAT
- *We will collect the boat from the docks, unwrap it and check that it is has traveled OK
- *We will arrange for the CE certification to be carried out and make all the required modifications prior to CE marking
- We will service the engine(S) and drive(S), fit new UK Style anodes, convert the electrics to UK Standard and check and advise if the electronic equipment is Suitable for use in UK
- We will Sea trial the boat for you (or with you if appropriate
- We will arrange delivery of the boat to your chosen marina
- You enjoy lower-cost, hassle-free boating.
